Not yet ready for college, upon
graduation from Davis high school in 1978, Dave
started a trucking company which he ran until early
1980 when he sold the business to join the Army. |

The day after the failed US hostage
rescue attempt in Iran in 1980, Dave and a former
wrestling team buddy enlisted in the Army
Paratroopers and served with the elite 82d Airborne
Division.

He voted for Ronald Regan for
President the day he made his second parachute jump
at Fort Benning Georgia's jump school. The next day
he cheated death on his first night jump from a jet
when his parachute failed to deploy properly and
sustained injuries to both legs. The hostages were
home for Christmas but Dave had 2 1/2 years to go. |

Dave quickly rose to the position of
Platoon Sergeant, was highly decorated, and
honorably discharged in 1983 after his 3-year hitch.
After 2 years of truck driving and 3 years in the
Airborne-Infantry, he was happy to take his dad's
earlier advice and eagerly went to college at Chico
State University. |

Highly motivated to make up for a
late start, Dave graduated college in 3 1/2 years
with a Major in Finance and Minors in Accounting and

Earning his real estate license right
after college, Dave began his career in real estate
in 1987. With the financial reserves of a typical
new college grad, and after the stock market crash
of '87 chilled the market, Dave landed a much-needed
salaried job as a Senate staffer and indulged a
lifelong interest in politics. |

Over the next 10 years, Dave worked
in the Senate and Assembly serving as Chief
Legislative Consultant, Director of Information
Technology, and Assembly Budget Director, managing
the Assembly's $87 million budget and 170 cost
centers. As Budget Director, Dave was also on the
team that got the first look at the Assembly's books
after the departure of Speaker Emeritus Willie
Brown. |

After receiving an offer he couldn't
refuse, Dave became a top-producing sales
executive with a high-tech Fortune 500 company. With
a life-long entrepreneurial spirit, in 2002 he left after 4 years to start his own
Real Estate brokerage. He took that sales training
and experience and applied it to real estate,
developing a thriving regional real estate and
mortgage brokerage from scratch. |

With the discipline of a paratrooper,
college degrees in business, certification as a
computer systems engineer, Fortune 500 sales
experience, and working with legal language over 10
years in the Legislature, Dave is well prepared to
lead his company in the 21st Century.
